DALLAS - A deadly and bizarre multiple-vehicle accident Wednesday in downtown Dallas has two families grieving.

Twenty-year-old Ashley Parra was driving on Continental Avenue when she was killed after an 18-wheeler fell onto her car as it dove off the Woodall Rogers Freeway ramp that leads to Interstate 35. The driver of the truck, David Simonellis of Bedford, was thrown from the vehicle and also died.

All we know so far is that it drove off the overpass (the truck). Do they know the reason (other than a guess at shifting weight)?

I know you said generally, but thought to ask the question anyway.

Really strange happening nonetheless.

I take that same overpass everyday. The guy had to be haulin ass to cause that shift, that flipped him over. That couldve been any of us driving under there..

That's exactly what he was doing. He was hauling ass, speeding... and it caused the load to shift and over he went. Stupid fucker.


As far as how to die... being eaten alive by cancer and dying a slow death sounds 100 times more horrible to me. That poor girl didn't see what was coming. She didn't suffer.

He had to have been doing at least 20 over the speed limit to shift a load on that curve.

As jacked as it sounds, that is how I've prayed to go out ever since I was a little kid. A quiet passing into the afterlife is one of the most soothing thoughts I have when I lay down to sleep.

When I hear the alarm the next morning, I know that I made it through to live another day.

Now barring all that "enlightened" stuff I just spat, it is a hope for OLD AGE or when my time to go calls, not one for every night I go to sleep.

I dunno, call me crazy, but I'd rather live for a few more years with cancer than die in my sleep tonight.

Now given the choice between cancer at 80 and death in sleep at 75 I might choose differently, but I have seen terminal patients tack on several years to their life and only the last few are in pain.

I could life a few more years, have a little fun, then go out with a bang (suicide)... That would seem better than not waking up tomorrow to me.

A statement was made by someone that they would rather DIE from cancer... than the way this poor girl died.

So, I had two choices to choose from.

I said I wouldn't want to DIE from cancer.

DYING from cancer and living through it are two totally different things. And cancer does not always mean DEATH. RIGHT? My Aunt and Mom are living proof of that... along with millions of women who have had breast cancer.

I would take a long drawn out painful death over a quick just trying to get to work and a semi lands on my head death any day. I can only hope that I am provided with some time to prepare my family and finances.. I cant imagine the bullshit that they would have to go through if I just didnt come home from work one day.

I feel bad for the two children & wife that the trucker left behind. Sad that the woman happened to truly be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
