Getting into an argument with a family member, and then not talking for days at a time (my choice). Then they email you and act like nothing happened, and want to meet up for lunch in hopes that you wont bring up the situation and act like nothing ever happened.

I lost it, and blew up, I let this person know I'm not cool with that. And I dont care what you do for me and my family or how you help us out - that does not give you the right or the go ahead to pop off and get an attitude with me or say whatever you feel like.

Yeah, it sucks...and I hate it when it happens...

My fuse is very short with this person (as of lately) but b/c they help us from time to time with whatever they can, to bless us....I still dont see that as a free pass to say whatever the fuck they wanna say.

The situation would have been completely fine and resolved whenever an issue came up, but I just lost it and blew the fuck up after they popped off. I'm not much for just brushing shit under the rug and acting like they can get away with it.

I want it resolved but dont even want to address the issue right now b/c they're getting an attitude with me with how long this has been stringing along. WTF? Are fuckin' kidding me? Now you wanna rush me along with trying to kiss & make up??? Own up to your bullshit words that pissed me off in the 1st place. At least THAT would be a start...

Seems kind of big of them to forget about the argument, and try to move on and/or make ammends/apologize. That's what family does. Can't hold grudges with family.

Yeah, I'm kinda feeling the same way on this one. If it's some sort of ongoing difference of opinion, she (or he, if that's the case) may feel it's better to just drop the subject and go back to enjoying each other's company. This is generally how my family and I operate. Chances are, your family member meant what they said but realizes that you took offense and doesn't want to bring the subject back up for that reason. Having kids changes things in all aspects of your life, especially the way you relate to family. You have to learn to bite your tongue a LOT when it comes to well-intentioned family members, especially if they're helping you out. Not saying you have to become a doormat, but you definitely learn to pick and choose your battles.

Since when is it big of a person to just move right along and not address the issue? I'm not interested to having this situation happen again, later on. That's not how you fix problems/issues.

I understand holding grudges and not speaking to them isnt right either or helping the matter.... but this is the only way that allows me to blow off my steam without wanting to rip their faces off. Its much safer and easier on my sanity to stay away until I can stand the sight of them again.
