Yeah, that's obnoxious. I haven't lived in Denton in almost 3 years, but I still get texts just about every damn week about shows up there.

I don't know why more promoters aren't using CellShout - it still lets you spread the word, but people can opt in or out as they want.

hahah! Good one. However, I will do this sometimes to let them know it's going out or so they can forward it.

I think a lot of people just send a text to everyone in their address book. However, when I do it I go through each person in my address book and select them individually. That way if I know someone is working somewhere else, or out of town, or already said they are coming... then I don't bother them with it.

It's more irritating to me for weekly events. Parties or one-time events are no big deal and I'm actually glad to be informed of those in case I missed it or forgot. But the most irritating is getting texts or calls after 10p... especially on a week night. If I am doing anything, it's already established before 10p. If not, there's a good chance I am in bed.

yeah the weekly text messages are getting out of control, especially after 10pm knowing that alot of the dj's have probably already started playing LOL!!!

the only people i allow to text me are zubar because i wanna know whats cracking over there. everyone else i don't give a fuck. this is one of the main reasons i have to change my number. please don't fucking send me mass group text messages about your shit. if you are friend though just hit me up and tell me. i could give a fuck about drink specials and free cover.
