| I have completley psyched myself out now...
I thought I should read up on my upcoming sugery so I am prepared. Now I am TOTALLY FREAKED OUT. This shit scares meL "Most of the 'major' pain was within the first 14-days. I had the surgery on 1 Aug, today is 24 Aug and I'm still having some 'mild' pain but nothing bad. My voice is still a bit strained but that'll clear up soon. The worst part of this entire ordeal is what came out of my nose post op in week 3 when I blew my nose. It's soooo disgusting; it's like scabs the size of corn flakes, but three times thicker and much harder (yellow in color); they're smothered in mucus and dark red blood." "had sinus surgery in may 2007,pain was unbearable, blocked, bled two days after the surgery,i regreted doing it but now im relieved its over, took almost three months to heal complete, still heavy when i bed,can breath properly, the problem is my throat, sore ,very sore, nasal drip still there " But then I see this: "I could semi breath through my nose today. yipeee..... I went to work for a couple of hours to investigate a complaint we recieved. I felt tired but I completed the inital investigation and submitted to customer. Anyways, at the rate my nose has been clearing up. I will breath like pre surgery in 2 to 3 days and Hopefully I can breath like a human in a month." "Best yet I breathe normally all night. In the past i was waking up with a dry mouth from my mouth being open to breathe and my snoring was awful. Neither problem has appeared since the surgery. If you have a surgeon like mine, GO FOR IT. Made a tremendous difference in my life." <---- scared |

Are you having your deviated septum (? spelling?) fixed? Or something else? My friend had her deviated septum fixed... twice. Both times it took a good month to heal from it. The first time was so bad... it took her years to get the courage back up again. Sorry... but that was her experience. Obviously everyone is different though.

My best friend had hers shifted 3mm a month or two ago, had to break her shit in 3 places. Looked like she got in a fight with DeLaHoya, but she was in no pain. Until they went to remove the cast and stitches, which was apparently the most painful thing she'd ever experienced, but only for a second.

Going under's no biggie for me. As for pain, you know they're going to hook you up with some good stuff to keep you comfortable. You'll do great!
