Abusive family members

My brother decided he wanted to be a woman beater again this morning....
I got a call from my sister saying that he was hitting her and beating the crap out of his girlfriend WHILE holding their 3-month old baby. WTF?

He's been abusive before to his wife (separated), my mom & my two sisters, but he's been doing well for the past year or so. I thought this behavior was over, but my sister ended up calling the cops this morning.

I just don't get it....

That behavior will NEVER end...EVER.

I've had a situation like this in my life (that is how I got the name pickle). I'm sorry that you and your family are going through this. Bless your sister in laws heart as well as the baby.

I'm sure your brother is thinking I don't have the problem...EVERYONE ELSE DOES. He needs help. ugh...wasn't there another thread about triggers? The horrible memories that are going through my head right now.

I know all the details on my ex…where he is, what he is doing, driving, living etc. Pretty nice having his aunts as one of my best friends. He now has a child and has hit his babies mama, thrown her down the stairs etc. Sad…but like I said his behavior isn’t going to change unless he gets help.

Hang in there (you and your family are in my prayers) and get him some help. Before you know it...your sister in law is going to snap and say FUCK YOU...dial 911 (like I did) then he can sit his pretty little ass in jail.

Thanks for the words of advice... I just hope that they can get things figured out without me there. My family lives kind of far away, so it sucks to have to hear about this stuff, but not be able to help in any way.

yikes. i believe there is hope for your brother. he seriously has to want help though. was he abused as a kid, or possibly serve in the military?

Sorry to hear it. Your brother needs to get some help. And until he does, your family needs to cut him off all contact with him. Obviously an ultimatum needs to be laid down, or he'll keep doing it.

Otherwise, I would tell that mother fucker if he laid another hand on anyone I know and love, he'll be dead.

But that's just me.

Of course, somone would not want to put it in writing... as it could be used as evidence.

actually, its possible to end that kind of behavior, but he has to want to change and go through EXTENSIVE therapy/anger management classes.

is your sis or his wife going to press charges?
