Don't even try to think you can get full custody when you have ONLY seen your Daughter 16 days out of the year and 8 days to which she slept over for the night. yep - I do feel bad for my niece. Actually her father was an outstanding guy....then a year into their relationship....we started finding out he had other kids and lied..and was cheating on my sister the whole time....once she found that out...he was kicked the fuck out. I just pray my niece doesn't have to go through this shit much longer.

In my opinion, that means that she was unwillingly put in a position that she got herself out of as fast as possible.

I don't get it - kids are way too much fun to bail on. There's really nothing in this world more important to me than being a parent. These days, I find it's more fun to stay home with the kiddos than go out partying most of the time. Why a guy would willingly miss out on that is beyond me.

Actually yesterday they had mediation. The mediator was an old family law judge! HAHAHAHA….he pretty much told my sister there is no way in hell that he will get full custody. (yeah the jackass is still trying to get FULL custody) It just sucks b/c the Tarrant county family courts are sooooooo backed up that it could take up to 2 years for a trail with Jury. So by that time my niece will be 6 and then she will hopefully be able to speak for herself. Just a shame that ANY child has to go through this. I couldn’t even imagine. My sister is a pretty strong person so I know she will do whatever she can to make this loser pay. Thank goodness we have a bad ass attorney!!! Too bad the dead beat dad has been fired by two attorney already b/c he was not able to pay them. We just wish he would give up parental rights and stay out of our lives forever…

A lot of guys use the whole custody thing as a bargaining chip. When they pull the custody crap, it's a way to try to scare the mother so she'll negotiate. It's an intimidation thing and it pisses me off to no end that the courts humor these idiots. A lot of it is the lawyers though. A custody case costs thousands and thousands of dollars and usually ends up going nowhere.

We're at $37,000 over here. Every dime he's ever paid in child support has gone to paying a lawyer to quibble with him over it. It's infuriating. BTW, good luck getting any legal fees. We've tried every time and they don't do anything.

yeah no shit....we doubt we will ever see a dime. He pays 400.00 a month in child support and that goes to her school. my dad thinks that if we sue for the money...he might freak and just give up the rights and leave us alone....but that is wishful thinking.
