its freakin cable, not satellite, right?

wtf? cant watch 2mins of anything on tv without it fuckin up, and my internet is slooooooooooowwww.

the cable signal still gets received by satellite at the home hub. and if it is raining it degrades the signal. Digital TV requires less power to receive the same picture. Unfortunately, less power means it is susceptible to rain fade. And ATT uses ATM packet transmission to send the signal. Which makes it even worse.

i never heard a complaint until today about Uverse.

We were going to switch from Time Warner to Uverse when we move into our house next month (hopefully...*fingers crossed*) but I looked into its availability in that neighborhood today and it's not available.

i hate TWC.

Oh and FiOS isn't available in that gheyborhood either.

Another explanation to a slow connection is that when it rains most people like to stay inside and watch tv and surf the net. Pixalation can occur due to packet loss, if the network is congested that is. You should call ATT and report the problem.

Not sure on the satellite feed though. National channel feeds are coming from their main video distribution center in Kansas. The feeds in Kansas are being received via satellite and distributed to all the VHOs (video hub offices) through IP networks. So I guess if it's storming in Kansas then you might see degradation of the video such as macro blocking or pixilation.

Local channels are received via satellite, so maybe he was a watching a local when it was storming.
