not having health insurance

my asthma medication, Advair, costs me $40 a month when I had health insurance. I thought that was expensive. Then I have been a full month without health insurance. And I ran out of Advair about 2 weeks ago. I thought I could go without it for a while till I got health insurance with a new job.

But my asthma has gone crazy. I'm using my rescue inhaler about 2-3 times a day. I decided that I just need to go ahead and buy my Advair. I call CVS to find out that it is $220!! I can't afford that at all.
So now I'll just sit here wheezing. I never realized how much I depended on it till it's not here anymore. I want my Advair...

This happened to me too, now I just use my emergency inhaler to help me make it.

yeah, i just never used my inhaler this often before. i'm hoping that 3 times a day isn't overdoing it. Not to mention waking up in the middle of every night with asthma attacks is soooo not fun.

go to sams club, they are often cheaper by at least 10%. I had a script that was 50$ at walmart and I went to sams and got it for about 12$, so the savings can be huge. They wont tell you the price over the phone. You don't need a membership to get scripts and alcohol.

Actually, I checked out a canadian online drug store and it's listed for $110 and free shipping, so I may go that route. I'm going to ask my doc if she has some free samples to get me by first. Maybe she can give me a months supply or something. if not, i'm hitting up canada

I have to use advair and an albeuteral inhaler and the Albeuteral now has a new propellent that caused their prices to go from like 10 dollars to around 150 ..luckily my doctor always gives me coupons for free ones or else I wouldn't be able to afford it.. I dont have health insurance either

I'm on the inhaler that replaced Albeuteral too. You saying that is 150? Great...just great

You should def. fork out a little change for short term health insurance. What if you get broadsided tomorrow? What if you have a brain annuerism?( too late to spell)

You never know what tomorrow will bring, so make sure you are insured!

a friend of mine found some left over Advair in her meds that she doesn't use anymore. So I just gained a month's worth - yay!

I know. I'm so scared something is going to happen like a car accident. And dammit, aneurisms are one of my biggest fears. I'm sure I'll die of that some day. yikes.
