The reason is life. And until you die, there is no end. It's constant ups and downs. And it seems like the downs come one right after the other after the other.

The best advice I can give you is to find something positive in every negative situation you have...and focus on it. The recovery of your surgery is sucking now, but there's a bigger picture...and soon you'll reap the benefits. I'm sure the neck injury is flaring due to the stress from everything else. Take a few minutes each day to breathe and clear your mind. Cancer is a dirty dirty thing, but try to focus on each family member. Zero in on all of the wonderful qualities they possess. Take this time to find a way to make them know how much they are loved and appreciated.

Remember, no matter how all of the mess your going through turns out, you'll be alright.

such is life. I dont mean that in any way to be a rude comment. but bad things or trials will always be there. the more you give into them, the greater they will effect you. Nothing is certian, nothing is promised, nothing is gifted to you. its what you make of it, and how you hold it in its entirety, that is the gift. There will be things that you can't control or change, and they will hit you in measures all across the board. You have to stand up, take them on, give them their peace, and move forward. Doesnt mean you loved them(it, yourself) any less, or valued them any different.

just remember, its the LIGHT you see them in, not the SHADOWS they cast that makes you .

Everything sucks because the economy sucks, which impacts everything. I know how you feel, but there are somethings that are missing and I feel its not asking to much. Like a decent job, then I could afford better health care, and do something more than just go to work and stay home. How about going out for a change.

But saving the jews from the devil's muslims is more important than the US economy, education, our own safety...

Took the words right out of my mouth.. this is my exact way of thinking.

I know you said you aren't really doing the buddhism thing anymore, but I think there are times when it helps to go back to some of it. I never feel more at peace than when I start studying/practicing again. If nothing else, it reminds you that you cannot control these things, but you can find peace with it within yourself.
