What do you do when the dog gets all up in your area? Smile? Say "Oh, no it's okay.. hi puppy.." or do you say "NO!!!!!!!!!!!" and give the animal AND owner a look of disgust, then fart on the dog? You can let them both know you are uncomfortable, with just a look, if you feel too shy to be communicatively vocal about it.

I just step back and move on and try not to give them a chance to make any contact with me whatsoever. I'd rather not make every encounter with an obnoxious animal and its owner, which constitute most of my enounters with animals out in public, to be a battle. I was just saying that it would be nice if people were a little more respectful of personal boundaries when it comes to their pets. Not everyone wants to be jumped on and licked. Fucking grotz.

And if you reacted differently, if those animals ever run into your again, their owners will know to keep them out of your personal space, you specifically. You'll be "the guy that got mad" when their dog jumped on your and/or licked you. If you're just saying you don't want to have to BE that guy, you just want the person to automatically know that is not publically okay behavior, you need to take some action, Miles. How will they ever know when everybody their animal encounters, doesn't do shit about it, or say shit to them? They'll just go on with their business and not think there's even anything wrong with that.

No, it's not your job to be the speaker for all people who hate it when animals publically invade their personal space, or to be the one to get the evil looks from those dog owners (although I can almost assure you they will apologize and then, guess what, keep their dog off you), but if you want to see some changes, you need to make some changes.

It's not going to be a revolution unless you take some action Moobs.

Action should be taken when it's a friends dog. Or a neighbor's dog that you will encounter on a regular basis.

Action should not be taken when it's a stranger in a store.

Well that's the thing though, 99% of my friends dogs don't bother me. I'm talking about stranger's dogs at the store.

So if a stranger's dog pisses on your foot, you just gonna pretend that didn't happen? Miles is grossed out. Period.

Did the dog piss on his foot? If so, I missed reading that.

Yes, if a dog attached to a leash comes up and just pisses on one's foot, then something should be said... and money should be given to replace the shoes.

If a dog is simply out of control and jumping on people (and the dog is on a leash)... and it's in a public place and you don't know the person then why start shit? Just walk away and move on.

No the dog didn't piss on his foot, but he is grossed out by these dogs licking him. He said that. He said it's grotz. So I am comparing his gross levels to that of ours, if a dog were to pee near us or on us.

I cannot BELIEVE that you of all people is having a hard time conceptualizing Miles having a legitimate beef with a person invading his privacy and you're saying he should take NO ACTION.

OF ALL PEOPLE!!

Miles, maybe you should just leave a post it note on the dog, saying how it makes you feel.

I'm going to author a manifesto that I intend to pass out to every dog owner I see.

Well... you mentioned a dog peeing on his foot.

Miles is a dog licking you the same as it peeing on your foot? Just curious. Robin seems to think so.

Yes, me OF ALL PEOPLE... is actally sayind that since it's a STRANGERS dog... that he should TAKE NO ACTION. Seriously. He's never going to see that person or the dog again. Why walk up and start shit with the person... in a store where dogs are allowed? Especially if the dog didn't injure him.

Look, when I'm a store... and a kid is in my way... I just move around the kid or go the other direction. I don't go nuts on the parent for not controlling their kid. I see this as being a similar situation.

Invading his personal privacy? Did the dog run over to him and tackle him? Was the dog on a leash? Was he able to get away from the dog?

I think is personal privacy was violated, IF he was UNABLE to get away from the dog.

You obvlisouly have no idea what you are talking about and didn't even bother to read the whole thread or any of miles' replies so until that happens and you get with the picture I'm not even wasting my time responding to you since you will never understand my replies. Do you even know that it's day light outside? Or do I need to tell you what time it is too?

1) You are bored.

2) I pretty much said what Miles said.
