going off on his friends gives him something to do because he either can't but probably WON"T be realistic about what is going on with the girl.

Like I said, I'm not defending him acting like a douche (because that's lame) but I do understand where he is coming from because all guys have been there at one point or another.

A lot of the younger guys tend to do that (although not mutually exclusive to just that group.)

girls always ask & hope the guy can just be honest (with himself mostly). but the 15% is the win. They don't base their happiness on another person usually. There isn't any mystery or deception. Clean cut, yes no, lets go, or lets not.

they don't get mad when you try to be their friend. they don't try to convince you otherwise. they don't waste their time flirting with a friend who doesn't want to be more than that. they realize the honesty in not pretending. it shouldn't be a dis to the ego, on the contrary it should make you happy to realize you are a good person that they want to continue hanging out with on a platonic level.
