The average useful life of a leased Dell Business Laptop is 2 years. My company's brilliant IT department decided to extend that to 5 years. My manager has authorized them to provide me with a new computer, TWICE. They come out of our budget, not IT's. Instead, our lazy ass IT department takes the HD out of my computer and inserts it into an existing laptop that is "currently working". That's why I've had 4 laptops in a year and a half.

they did that shit to my wife too.... fucked up all kinds of shit with our wireless and citrix conection....

glad i dont work with anyone like you. crybabys suck ass. my laptop was stolen a couple weeks ago and i didnt miss a beat. i actually closed a nice 7MM deal without it. if you are as good as you write, you will revert to the good old days and grab the pad and pencil and go to town...

I can tell you as a matter of fact that w/out a computer and access to the net... I'd be fucked. The data and resources necessary to do my job are impossible for anyone to hold in their head. Now, I could bullshit some one enough to convince them of pretty much whatever I wanted to convince them of.... but I wouldn't have the facts, law and other relevent information to back my bullshit up. I tell you what. Go to www.isqft.com. Download the plans, specifications, and addendums for the "Tarrant County Water Supply Project 87 MGD Reliability Project". Then go ahead and try and estimate the Electrical Distribution System for that project by hand. Tell me how that works out for you.

Oh yea, I forgot.....you have to have a working computer to download the plans to get started....
