| Inside a Mash Ton @ 100+ Degrees
Having to get into a hot mash ton that just had boiling caustic in it, and scrub the walls for an hour with a tiny scotch pad. All while its 98 degrees out, and 100% humidity inside, really sucks. When I crawled out every fiber of clothing on me was soaked from my sweat. This is still the best job in the world, despite all of the hardships.

I did that shit at Goose Island Brewery in Chicago and I feel for you. There's no way you can't make that not suck ass. But the fringe benefits of the job are way worth the cleaning of mash tuns, cleaning of beer lines and shoveling of used hops, malt and barley. Plus you make good beer too. You work at Rahr right?

About a year and a half. Started as a waiter then bartender, then muck shoveler, then they tasted the porter I brewed without telling them and brewed full time. It was about 10-12 years ago. I have worked at quite a few microbreweries and have enjoyed it all. I wish I could do it full time.

Rahr and sons rock! Are you a volunteer there or a paid employee. I was just there a couple of weekends ago. If I still lived around the area I would def volunteer there.
