Minc - HIP HOP NIGHT

You all know I have much love for Minc but DAMN after Friday night...I don't know if I'm allowed back...you know on a HIP HOP night and all b/c I'm white.

Jesus lord...here is the story.

Jeremy and I leave a pool party to go up to Minc to pick up flyers. We walk in (yes, I understand the door people don't know us) but they were fucking rude... WHO ARE YOU??? HUH?

As Jeremy is trying to explain "Hey, I'm having a birthday up here this month...I need to pick up flyers from Julie." Door man "Julie...who is that?" Ummmmmm the OWNER...so for about 10 minutes they try to figure out probably what a flyer is.

anyway...so I go up to the bar looking for Swany. I ask the other bartender and I guess Swany is on vacation. (THEN THEN THEN.....two girls ask me who were not of the white race)

Ghetto voice "You cooooome here often?"
Me: "Haha, yeah Minc is like my 2nd home...I love it here!"
Some bitch: "Well you came on the WROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG NIGHT!" *snapping Z formation*

So I looked at them like WTF...and left. Seriously??? Seriously????

GET OVER YOUR FUCKING OOOOOOOH this is HIP HOP night....ONLY BLACKS ALLOWED....fuck off. I wish I would of told them Minc was really a GAY club...I bet they would of loved that!

That sucks though; Sounds like there were some ignorant people up there, which is sad because minc has always seemed to me like the "we don't care who/what you are but come in and have a good time!"

its not like that, but they're testing you. you don't have to blast back in anger, just say some dumb shit, like, you like wayne brady or obama, or something you would think may piss them off MILDLY, and they will usually just trip out with you.

Well funny enough, it would be the "wrong night" because they were having a black gathering there like they normally used to do at Zubar on the select Fridays during the month.

It doesn't excuse the attitude given to you at the door at all, though.

Let Julie know the grief you ran into and she'll get you sorted, I'm sure.

Or at least arrange for a contact if you are in fear of reprisal on another visit.
