A true Chatty Cathy is not deterred by things like doors. My office manager and the receptionists have this goddamn knitting circle gossip fest that goes on most of the afternoon. I shut my door, but I can still hear them, even over my music. It's gotten so bad lately that I have to moof to get anything done. Thankfully Epoch isn't that far from my office so I can get totally wired and knock that shit out quick.

Ugh. My team in my office has one... and it's a guy. He likes to come over and get all up in your personal space and talk...... ABOUT ANYTHING. And it's so hard to get rid of him.

Sometimes, I look at him and just say, "Yeah man that's cool... um... I have a lot to do so we'll talk later." and give him that goawaynowordie look.

They probably want friends, but besides that she's obviously stressed out and lonely and needs to vent and for some reason you seem like somebody she can let this out too.


People now a days are very particular and clique and feel like OMG i don't know you, stop talking to me! I get this all the time from co workers and customers at the job..just nod and smile and enjoy that somebody feels comfortable enough with me a total stranger to just spill their guts. People are so isolated.

I actually really miss my old chatty pals.

We all basically had the same job but different accounts & we'd go outside & talk about how stupid ppl were & then about where we were going to lunch.

I'd give up a night of excessive raving to have that time of environment again. I feel so utterly lonely with my work now.

we've got one and no matter how uninterested in conversation i look, she ALWAYS comes over and tries to start a discussion. its not that i'm unfriendly or unsociable, its that she does this like at least 3 times a day! and they aren't meant to be super short remarks like "oh lord 5pm can't get here fast enough". she always means to come and actually TALK about something, usually something i don't give a shit about. she'll stand at my desk, and slowly unwrap a piece of candy, all the while talking to me about something her son did or how her bills just keep piling up or try and get gossip out of me about any of the other coworkers. and i'll just sit there and not look at her, and just be like "uh huh, oh yeah, ha yeah i know the feeling" but she doesn't ever go away until she's good and ready to go back to her desk.

ugh, i wish they made some kind of repellant spray for this kind of shit

next time stand up quickly and with a continuous motion slap her across the face as hard as you can....
