FUCKING ANNOYING!!

we've got one and no matter how uninterested in conversation i look, she ALWAYS comes over and tries to start a discussion. its not that i'm unfriendly or unsociable, its that she does this like at least 3 times a day! and they aren't meant to be super short remarks like "oh lord 5pm can't get here fast enough". she always means to come and actually TALK about something, usually something i don't give a shit about. she'll stand at my desk, and slowly unwrap a piece of candy, all the while talking to me about something her son did or how her bills just keep piling up or try and get gossip out of me about any of the other coworkers. and i'll just sit there and not look at her, and just be like "uh huh, oh yeah, ha yeah i know the feeling" but she doesn't ever go away until she's good and ready to go back to her desk.

ugh, i wish they made some kind of repellant spray for this kind of shit

I had one of those women in my office... exactly the same thing. Fortunately for me, though, she quit a couple of weeks ago.

I fuckin' hate that too.
Fortunately they don't talk to me. But I do know every medical problem my cubicle neighbor has. Today she thinks her ear is screwed because she woke up with crusty crap coming out of it.. Yea I really wanted to hear that.

Not to mention every fuckin personal call she takes is at least 20-30 minutes long.
Annoying as hell.

I dont think the rant is about gossiping... its more about people taking up your time with unwarranted conversation and the difficult task of getting rid of them.

I work in an office that is 100% chicks and there are about 5 or 6 chatty's in the building. Luckily, my office is somewhat secluded from most of the other offices, so I can avoid them for the most part.

So whatever happened with asking them in a polite manner to leave you the fuck alone as you're trying to get some work finished? Small talk is ok, but at the end of the day, you have a task to do and you want to get it done or else you're getting shipped out.
