Dealing with irate customers….

This dingle hoper calls in and wonders why he only is getting X amount of money for his relocation from CA to IL. HE WAS VERY MAD that the amount was so low….$3,700.00 to be exact. (That is for food, lodging, gas or plane tickets) that doesn’t include the 12,000.00 for the moving van and moving people.

He kept yelling and yelling louder and louder at me….WHY WHY WHY WHY???? Why is it this amount? Do you understand I have a wife and 4 kids??? This is NOT going to cover my *(&^@($*@&($*&(_ trip!!!!!!!!!!

Ok 1st of all MISTER….YOUR COMPANY puts the policies in place. This is what THEY have set up for you. If you would like to go to YOUR boss and let them know that is fine. There is NOTHING I can do to give you more money.

So I explained everything to him very nicely. (mean while he is still huffing and puffing)

He kept saying F that F this…I finally told him that I was going to hang up if he kept talking to me like that. He said “YOU CAN’T HANG UP ON ME!!!!!!!!...I’m hanging up on you you worthless B****!”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA – you fucktard. Nice that the phone call was recorded and that it’s going to be sent to YOUR boss. My boss was like “holy shit!!!!” “Let’s can his ass!”

First of all - I hate those days at work.

I have worked in various call center type customer service positions... Even worse than getting cussed up & down on the phone is getting it to your face at the front desk of a hotel. Don't work hotel front desk unless you have thick skin and the ability to hold back a punch.

That's so shitty though, I don't understand people who call in and scream. I get it in my job from time to time and I'm like wth do you think I'm going to do for you?! Especially NOW that I'm an f'in bitch or whatever they've decided I am... lol. Idiots.

Actually, they paid 12k for his entire move. The $3700 was just to drive to Illinois, which can totally be done in about 3 days for less than $3700. That jack ass probably stopped in Lake Tahoe because he thought he would be getting more money, foolio.

Woah, not cool! I feel sorry for his kids.

That makes my hurt feelings look silly over this lady who came into my work demanding for copies of the last 3 years of her and her husband's tax returns, and she was really mean to me about it. He's a very prominent insurance agent in town and he's so jolly and nice, and she's a really hot blonde bitch that I guess is trying to leave him or something. I had never met her, only dealt with him.

We help with the relcation process. (Find schools, homes, churches etc)

I just tell them what their company tells me....I love my new job but that guy was a dick.

I usually work with people right out of college so they have never moved or anything. It's like holding their hand until they reach their new home.

Obviously this dude was angered. You getting angered back is not going to help anything. When you're in customer service it's important to remember that calmness is the key to resolving the situation, reguardless of him calling you names. If it was resolved he came to his senses, he would have probably apologized for being a dick, and you would've felt like the better person for not letting your nerves get the best of you. Put yourself in his shoes.

Of course all of this stuff is extremely easy for me to say since I did not hear the conversation OR get yelled at.
