I never heard of that one. I actually start playing with my hair. Phil will on to me about it since I only do that around his family. I get nervous b/c I'm worried they will think I'm crazy by something I say.



But I always ask them how they have been doing.
Say Hello & good bye when I come over.
Mention something they once told me about themselves (like their back pain, some trip they planned).
Just be polite so will invite me over again so I can kick on their new couches (for REAL! those things are super bad ass & I know that Phil likes that his family likes me)

See, basic social skillz. Not everyone has them. One of my brother's is w/a chick who gets all super anti-social. Walks in & doesn't say hi. Or we come over & she goes STRAIGHT to the bed room. Never asks if we need a drink of water, or are hungry. Just a very bad host, bad guest. Really, I had to work every last piece of my being to "get" her. Finally I just told Phil, "Get in there & ask her what is the deal!" And he found out that she thinks, this is what she told him, "I'm from Cali, people should want to know me, I don't want to know Texans."

i'm a performer. so i can flip the switch and be little miss sociable. but personally, i'm pretty shy until i get to know you. if i have a crush, i probably can't make a complete sentence around them.

some people think that on stage suzy should run around all the time, but that would be exhausting.

& i get annoyed with people who spend soooo much time with social bla bla niceties. like they call & spend the first 3 minutes with "hello. how are you. how was your day. this was my work day. talk to you soon. goodbye." like if i'm at work & busy or on the other line... "could you just get on with it already?" my ex wondered why i never told him about my work. probably cause i never cared about his work & was trying to be nice.

like my dad always expects me to eat when he eats (even if i just had a meal). he also thinks we should watch tv together. so if i'm working on the computer, he feels like my social skills are bad. he doesn't understand i'm working on a portfolio to get a lovely scholarship. he just wants me to watch knight rider with him.

Eating together a meal is a very bonding experience. I like cooking it together too... but if you just ate, you'd think he'd just let ya talk while he munches down.

i love cooking together. my daughter is at the eyerolling age, so she isn't as excited to do it anymore. but its very bonding & it makes me happy when we can work together. create something. learn something. when she's older she'll be glad we did it.

when i went to college i was shocked at how many people could not cook for themselves. i taught people how to cook but they had to buy the groceries. i didn't buy groceries much at all during my freshman fall.

I'm not shocked. There are so many places to eat at, fast food to super nice places like Olive Garden, there really isn't much of a reason to cook if you live alone.

So I cooked way more when I had someone to cook for than now.

get some veggie recipes and go for it...it wont be all perfect in the begging, but it'll come with practice..like most things in life.
