Had to buy new tires for my car because otherwise it won't pass inspection.

Go to NTR... finally pick out some tires... high performance ones that only are rated for 30,000 miles but should not produce a lot of road noise. I'm really tired of road noise from my current tires.

Then they ask if I have wheel locks. Ooopss! I do. And I lost the key to them. When my car got in that wreck, a rim had to be replaced. They asked for me for the wheel lock back then I didn't have it.

So I'm having to pay NTR labor to break the wheel locks off. Yes, Jonny already said I'm probably getting ripped off because I'm a chick. That was around $40 (Mazda said they would charge me $22- but the car was already up at NTR when I found out and I didn't want to hassle with going back to get the car, taking it to Mazda, then going back to NTR... and having someone drive me back).

They don't have any lug nuts for my car, which means I have to go to Mazda on Tuesday to get those replaced. I won't be getting wheel locks again for fear of losing the key again.

So my 4 new tires today with tax and everything were $650... ouch.

Then on Tuesday I have to probably spend another $50 getting the lug nuts replaced.

Buying new tires sucks.

That's really not that bad for mounting and balancing a decent set of tires.

The wheel lock key is usually with your spare tire kit in the trunk, sure you don't have it?

it really sux if you fuck one up and pay 150 for another one. but w insurance its about 30 bucks. if they don't mess up in about 9 mos, run over a curb on a couple an get new ones. kinda pays for some of the orig cost.

You need to go to family owned inspection sites because they will usually pass you, unless there is some major stuff wrong with your car. That or go to the Mexican tire shops around Maple and Inwood or the Oak Cliff area.

try hamms tires. on the real note. they win. it's ghetto n shit but gurl i my tires for real cheap and have not had any problems.... 3 years later now. bet i'm due for some new ones but rest assured i will be going there. cheap as shit!
