I had that for a few months last year. I'd be asleep or trying to go to sleep and my leg would just jerk out of no where. Hasn't happened in quite some time thankfully.

I think low potassium can cause that.

Actually its mostly heavy minerals but there are a lot of minerals in water that can help out. Not having enough water will cause muscle cramps more so than twitches.
Drinking tonic water helps with the twitches due to the large amounts of quinine in it.
