I need a good lawyer - Dallas Dance Music - Dallas nightlife, music, tickets, and more

I am in need of a referral for a good lawyer.

In a nutshell....

On the 22nd, I took my new car back to the place I bought it from for a repair they promised to cover when I bought the car (yes, I have it in writing).
They sat on it doing nothing until September 4th, when their staff mechanic finally took it to another mechanic.
I've been told the mechanic they took it to has taken it to yet another shop.

I have not been able to get them to tell me where exactly my car is, when it will be done, or even what the official diagnosis of what the problem was.

Most recently, they've stopped taking my phone calls.

I'm sick and tired of it, and I'm ready to stop playing stupid fucking games.

So if anyone has any good references for legal assistance, it would be appreciated.

The car is 2 years old.
It was an established lot as referred to me by the Air Check Texas program.

Due to this issue, Air Check Texas has taken them off of the referral list.. But that doesn't help me get my car back.. That just keeps future people from getting jacked around.

There are a whole hell of a LOT of details left out of this. They all add to my case.. Not a good idea to lay out my whole situation in a public forum.

The details provided are there mostly to get me to the right specialization of lawyer, and to justify that I do truly have a valid case...

But what with peer pressure and all..
The car was slightly grinding going into 5th gear, but only 5th gear. The grinding noise was higher pitched and at a faster rhythm than the grinding noise it made if I legitimately missed a gear shift. Other than the grinding noise, it would go into gear just fine.
Before I actually signed paperwork to purchase, I had informal diagnoses by my mechanic, my friends fiance who was a mechanic for the air force, and my father (who has no real credentials). They all said that it was either linkages or a synchronizing issue, and should be no big thing to repair.

That's all the info ya'll get here, though.

I'm looking for lawyer referrals, not a critique of the situation based on the most basic points of the story.

if you want a lawyer, be prepared to pay. there are basically 2 outcomes and that's all a lawyer is really going to see when taking the case.

(1) get your money back. sell them back the car. look over your contract, BOS, the part where they said they would warranty your car. it needs to be quite clear what they are liable for. was the car under a manufacturer's warranty or did the dealership knowingly acknowledge a pre-existing condition? what time frame is included?

(2) they eventually fix it and no money has changed hands.

i obviously don't know the dealership, actual problems, whatever... BUT, just being a realist here with my business experience. cars are cars. they all suck. they all breakdown. they (the dealership) has shown that their intent is to fix it. They can show they tried first to fix it at the dealership, then an actual garage, and when they couldn't fix it, it has moved on to another place. bottom line is that they can show that to any judge and your case would be thrown out. so if you really want a lawyer... be prepared to cough up some real cash.

it sucks that this has happened. unless you can prove that they are using the car or whatever... then you may have some sort of case, but i'd leave it at small claims after you get the car back. some car issues take time. i know a truck that has been out of commission for some engine noise for over 3 weeks. it's almost as if they want to turn it into a test case and write about it in medical type journals for cars & trucks.

they also could have wrecked it... just some other possibilities. instead of calling, go up there and find out where your car is.
