None of the prescription sleep meds or the anti-depressants that are supposed to help with sleep (Trazodone) work for shit for me. But, man, if I take some Benadryl I'm out like a light. If you just need a temporary fix, the OTC stuff will generally do the trick. Only problem is that I have to take anything, prescription or no, several hours before I need to be asleep. You also need to give yourself at least 8-10 hours to sleep, otherwise you can be pretty groggy the next day.

Fuckin' insomnia.

nope. actually quite the opposite. pot definitely doesn't help depression...it just masks it. the best way to get over depression is to tackle it with a clean state of mind head on. in reality...weed/drinking/(insert whatever here) might help to temporarily relieve the stresses of depression...but in reality...the true root of your depression will always be there...so it just, unknowingly to you cause you keep masking it, makes things worse and worse...like a downward spiral. If you can honestly self reflect and find what the source of your depression is with a clean head...and work proactively to take care of it...you will find that anything you do for recreation afterwards is truly more enjoyable.

yeah usually about a week after you quit smoking the depression and moodyness hits. I bypassed that this last time by doing a full detox cleanse. It helps get all the junk out of your body and move you through the motions faster.

Great advice from grey and Steve-o.... Anytime you use weed,alcohol,or RX pills you are just masking the problem. Confront yourself with these issues. Don't focus on "I don't want to get depressed" Focus on "I'm not depressed" Think positive. Whatever you put out in these situations is what you get.
