![]() | my new job rocks
i spent 5 years being a quality engineer in aerospace. 5 years of being told that i suck. that my ideas didn't have merit. that i needed 'some seasoning'. quality-type jobs suck. you don't get merits, only demerits. when everything is going right? you don't exist, or you're holding up the process. when a major failure occurs? OMG WHERE'S QUALITY HOW DID THEY LET THIS HAPPEN fuck that. my new position lets me do heavy problem solving -- i had to feed that urge with chess, poker, and video games -- as well as lead meetings, interact with customers, and teach classes. formerly i ONLY got to utilize my personal skills in my social life. a good job --> utilizes as much of your 'natural' skillset as possible. i'm not the best engineer in the world, nor am i the most social person, but i found a position that's well managed, with GOOD co-workers that back me up, and my boss actually gives a shit. it's fucking dope. i've been out of college for almost six years. i JUST got my first "wow, you're smart. i'm really glad we hired you." almost broke down and cried. coping sucks. after a while you go numb, forget that you're coping, and you blindly wonder why your life sucks and you hate everything. totally didn't realize that i was coping with my old position. i thought work sucked, everybody hated it, and that's the way it was supposed to be. i wonder where else in my life that i'm coping. time to poke the numb spots and see what i can make happen. it's late, though, and I have work tomorrow. YES!

Congrats, man. We spoke of it on a dancefloor last month, but sounds like all is gravy now. Don't stick your dick in the mashed potatoes until you know what kind of party it is, though.

ex: my boss's GM took us out to dinner and told us about his recent marriage in Jamaica, where he was 'smoking those blunt things' and ballin' his girl at Hedonism. ex: First day conversations revolved around Viagra. Boss wonders aloud if he could take that and make a real attempt at 'fucking the wife to death with a titanium doom-cock'. He's in his late forties. HOW MUCH WIN IS THAT, DDM? TITANIUM DOOM-COCK FTW.
