Work for the past year and a half has been interesting....
I work with a bunch of girls about 10 years younger than myself, for a boss who is about my mother's age... The boss is notoriously cranky (nicknamed "The Dragon"), and the girls follow her lead via total cattiness.

For the most part, its been easy to ignore.
I'm just part time, so I keep my head down and do my job and everything is okay.

This past weekend, the manager decided she was going to resign.

Since that point in time, all holy hell has broken loose in my department.
Total anarchy of the high stress variety. Literally everyone is at each other's throats, and everyone's changing the rules constantly to suit their needs.... but nobody can agree on the rules, so even if you caught the latest update, no matter what you do you are in shit with someone.

I feel like I'm in a nasty game of Survivor.

And I'm trying to train a new hire through all of this mess.

I make catty comments back & co-workers I hate to the point they either avoid me or quit.

Or we just fight in the parking lot.

But I really hope you don't have to do either. You'll be fine. It's been a VERY long time since I hated my co-workers or job to the point I've ever done any of the above.

I had a similar thing happen. I had a full time temp job. I worked with 3 other temps and they decided to hire someone to a perm. The whole place just blew up. I couldn't do anything right from that point on. It finally came down to someone said I made a mistake, but wouldnt show me the data or what was wrong, only that I had made a mistake. I took a day off to think about it and turned in my badge the next day.

She's been running around literally trying to sleep with as many guys as she possibly can, but see..... My entire department forgets a few key things about me starting with the fact that I've been in this business literally 10 times longer than all of the rest of them, and have therefore worked with many of these guys before, and have been friends with several of them for a rather long time..

More than once now, this girl has gotten COMPLETELY catty with me over the fact that she's going to sack some guy. If I tell her I don't think it will work (which I only claim that when I truly believe it), she tells me I'm just too lame and old to understand.... And within 5 minutes the guy will come around a corner, get excited to see me, stop to talk, invite me to hang out, and completely ignore the girl.

No surprise, based upon what I was telling you the last time I saw you....
Apparently we're not going to be ushering shows anymore..

The girls are losing their war, but its going to hit my paycheck HUGE to not have those hours.

This reminds me of a situation several years ago where a former DJ/Zedan board admin stopped talking to me at work because I wouldn't be his girl, and took active efforts to get me fired. The efforts eventually worked (but it took a while).

About a year ago, I got an email from him. "I have a girlfriend now, and it makes me realize how awful I was. I'm sorry."

I didn't reply.
