Interviewing while sick

Ohh not good. I had problems coughing during the interview - I just couldn't help it - and even worse just concentrating in general. I couldn't think of answers quickly and there was a disconnect between my brain and my mouth. I am sure he thought I was a total moron. I sound like a frog too.

He kept asking me what about the ad appealed to me. It's all of 3 fucking sentences. I told him the ad was for a position that is exactly what I had been doing, which I love doing (not!) because the printing/marketing industry is challenging and constantly evolving with new processes and products. I added a little more about why I like that type of position. He still kept asking me "but what in particular did you like about the ad?" Dude what? IT'S 3 SENTENCES. WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY?

Between that confusion, coughing and the disconnect I am pretty sure I bombed it and I usually rock at interviewing.

did you tell him you were sick and not in normal form? if so im sure he will understand....

If it was for an advertising/marketing positio, he was probubly asking you: Because he wanted your opinion on the lay out/ presentation, as if he was a new customer coming to you for advice on how to better reach his customer base. Probubly made it short, and bland on purpose.

Hope you feel better soon, having to do interviews at less 100 percent, sucks.

Maybe when you hit him up with the follow up call, you can work in another meeting and get a 2nd chance? (I'd follow paiges advice and drop it subtly that you were sick when u 1st met) ... GOOD LUCK!

Sorry, girlie. I'm sure it went fine. It sounds kind of like he didn't really have an interview prepared.

I've called to reschedule an interview before and they understood completely. Don't be afraid to do that, usuallt people are pretty understandable.

It was on monster, there is no layout or form to it. Just a couple sentences, that's it. Plus that's not what the job is for. I'm not in advertising.

Thanks! Unfortunately this position is going fast and today was the only day to interview. They are narrowing it down to 2 or 3 and they will meet again early next week. I had to do it or pass

Lol no you didn't do that at all! That's what my mom thought too but that wasn't the feeling I got. I am just not on my A game right now.

he probably didn't know any different since he is just meeting you.

Ugh, yeah that sucks. I had that happen to me. I got sick the morning of an interview & I called to let them know I was sick & the next day I called to reschedule & someone else was hired.

Well hope you get this job!
