so i was working in some apartments yesterday right, i think it was in south Dallas, anyways they were section 8 apartments, and damn man, its shows just how unfair this government is. Now this has nothing to do with race and stuff but like 95% of people there were black but what i didn't understand was nothing but guys from 16-30 were hanging out all day, like not doing anything, chilling, smoking, drinking...but i see this and wonder how the hell does the government let this lazy bastards live for free and they don't contribute to the economy but instead make it worse? Meanwhile they spend millions trying to get rid of Latinos for WANTING to work here?

I seriously do not have a problem with any race, but it irks me when people take advantage of the system but dont contribute to it. Same goes for the gang members, cholos or whatever, because of them bastards the rest have to suffer cuz they think you are a gangbanger too...hmm

I don't think it is that we are trying to get rid of Latinos. We are trying to get rid of people that are a drain on the economy. People that use hospitals and other social services while escaping taxes.


But I have been drinking and can't make a very decent argument at this point.

Two points:

1.) There are a large number of illegal workers here that still pay income tax, social security, etc. They do this both because they're generally honest and upright people, and because they know it will look really good if they ever get a chance to apply for citizenship.

2.) If the problem is that illegal workers are draining the economy by not paying taxes, etc., then there's a really easy fix. Start a guest worker program, register these folks, and make sure that their earnings are taxed like the rest of us.

no, i was just saying that it doesn't seem fair(it isnt) that there is a system that helps people live for free and not work, and there isnt a system that lets you work and still pay just because you are illegal.

and black people are not the only people on section 8, theres alot of white/latinos on there too, mainly the chicanos..cuz most are lazy.

These are people with faked/stolen credentials. A lot of illegals appear to be legal to business owners, therefor they have taxes removed from paychecks.

Not necessarily. I know one guy that's here doing contract work, and he still calculates his own taxes and sends them in every quarter. He's just an honest guy, and as he tells me, if he gets to drive on our roads, it's only fair he help pay for them. Back when I was in construction, I knew a lot of folks like that - all illegal, but they'd still pay their taxes on time and in full. That's more than you can say for a lot of US citizens.

i was just about to say that etaine; the illegals here actually do pay taxes, since most of them are using stolen identities in order to work. they just never see that money again since they can't exactly file a W2. and if they aren't paying taxes, but still working, they're being horribly exploited and underpaid.

I'm so confused... if a worker is ILLEGALLY in the US... how the hell do they have a SS number, and how do they pay taxes? Sure, they pay taxes when they buy stuff... but how would it come out of their check?

Just because you are honest doesn't mean you can just acquire a SS card.

You can get a Taxpayer ID Number (TIN) without having a SS, being a citizen, or even being here legally. The government makes it really easy to give them money if you want to.

And for the record, the people I'm talking about are here with matriculas, not stolen US ID's, and are doing 1099 contract work.

but how are they doing contract work without having a legit business.
and by indicating income, they're basically pointing out all the companies that are illegally contracting them. what do they say on their form?
