my wife was complaining at how slow everyone was driving this morning on her way to work, she's from Utah so shes used to these types of weather conditions, i also had to remind her that Texans only see this type of weather 2 days out of the year!

I drive suuuuuper slow on the ice and I don't care who it pisses off. All it takes is one teeny tiny patch of black ice to total a car and/or kill your stupid ass. So, yeah, honk all you want but you're gonna feel real fuckin' dumb when you get over-confident and slide into a guard rail.

Not you specifically John but, seriously, I spun out on black ice on an overpass once and it was the scariest shit ever. I was even going slow. I couldn't imagine hitting it at 55+ mph. No thanks.

ding-ding-ding! the kicker was that there was NO ICE. none. zip. zero. nada. to the north, you guys got some stuff dropped on you, but coming up 408/loop 12 was clear as a bell.

i would get on the overpasses and to show everyone that there was no problems, i would turn my wheel side-to-side.

although it was fun at one point. i felt like i was driving a ferrari. vrrrroooooom up through the gears, winding around everyone. zoom zoom! the rio cinco was eating 'em up alive!

I see halos from head/brake lights and it makes it hard on me to drive in the rain and ice, but I can't put my life on hold every time the weather is bad. I drive nice and slow and safe in the middle lane.

And guess what - nowhere is as important as me getting there in one piece. Why the rush? Just be safe, at least for the sake of someone else's life and family at home.

Who knows John, maybe they have a baby girl they want to see when they get home too? Or maybe she's in the car with them.
