no clue, ive got my wallet so it must have been some soft of online transfer they got it off of. I ordered all my christmas presents online so theres no telling where it came from.

My fault though, I ordered from some places i knew didnt have verified by visa. I've been using my card online for years and never had a problem though. Bound to happen some time.
BofA will clear it all up but until all the charges post im out that 600. At least 3-4 days, could be longer

well all my money is back in the bank, no thanks to bank of America. They told me it would be at least 10 days AFTER i received the paperwork and faxed it back. fuck all that. I called the merchants and they just canceled the payments and credited my account back.
As soon as the holidays are over I'm switching banks. Who do you guys think has the best features/service?

You don't want your identity stolen. Be glad that's not what really happened and you're only out $600.

You are right, when I first posted this, I thought that was what had happened because the person had every bit of my information. It was either from an online purchase or someone rifling through my mail, difficult to tell at that point.
I know now which website they got it from because of the information that he had, he also had my phone number which I only put on a couple of purchases.
Cards have been canceled, account codes have been changed just in case.
Basically i just got robbed, no identity theft on this one. Identity theft is a HUGE bitch. I know someone who is still dealing with it 2 years after the fact.

well if they have that much info it might be good for you to go ahead and put out a fraud alert with the big 3 and monitor your credit reports for a while.

My bf is a victim of identity theft. I know what kind of crap you've gotta deal with, I'm sure you're aware too since your buddy went through it too. Details I'm not really gonna put on here out in the open.

I had something similar happen to me a couple of years ago except it was a girl that was staying at my house, suppose to be a friend of mine.

When you open your account they give you a temp. debit card and when you get your actual card in the mail you are suppose to shred the temp card....stupid me didn't do that and kept it in my wallet so she went in there and jacked it and went on a nice little shopping spree.

When I realized the money in my account was gone and I called the bank they saw that the card that was used hadn't been used in almost 6 months. I told them it was the temp card, someone stole it from me and they issued all of the money back to me no questions asked.

It was Bank of America as well, the only problem I've ever had with that bank is the outrageous over draft fee's they charge.
