Buster charter cable

So....

I asked in UB if anyone knew of a problem concerning Charter & connecting up with PS3 & Xbox 360. Charter told me i had a bad ip, and Sony told me that Charter is full of shit, because the ip is different every time. Well that was a nearly a month ago, i haven't had the proper time to set around and fuck with it. So yesterday i called up Sony , and went through every which way to hook up the PS3. Nothing, then the guy says its your webstar modem. I go swap that out with Charter, and reconfigure the new Motorola modem. This time it gets an ip but still won't connect.WTF! Even the Sony guy said that. So i call up Charter for the 30th time, they tell me "Sir if it was on our end nothing would work, not your regular internet..nothing.WTF? I ask for a tech, and he comes out, and puts in a who new modem + wireless, and then the TV turns pink. I said what'd you do ..he goes uhhh..i dunno, i got to go though so just call Charter and go pick up a new box.


i connect to the Sony to see if all this works..CAME RIGHT ON!


i don't even want Charter, the complex i have insist that we use Charter, they won't allow satellite to be connected.

Sounds to me like you just need to open up all of the ports on your router.

so the new modem and wireless fixed it? but now you need to fix your TV?

Sorry bro. I am not sure about PS3 but I know xbox.com has a list of compatible ISP's and modems that will work for xbox live.

its all good now, i was just venting some left over frustration, after all its been a month. I do have a router now, and it plays just fine. Funny enough i have Xbox and the modem wasn't loading on it as well.

So i've been playing , and i already got hit with to disconnections. Fucking busters! I'm about to tell Charter to fuck off.

are you using the wireless router they gave you? and is it built into the modem?

chances are you need to use your own router and just connect it thru the modem directly.

yes it is built in to the modem.

i tired the direct into the modem thing, and that didn't work, so i'm off to buy a new router. it does work, but i get a disconnect every hour or so, and it says its a ethernet cable unplugged so??

I have the webstar modem and charter, and it won't connect. I'm getting a registered IP and all that nice stuff, but my internet connection fails every time. Please, what action can I take in getting my ps3 to go online? Shall I take the route you did?
