Man... last night my cat jumped up to the top of the kitchen cabinets. When I climbed up to get him, I slid my finger along the wood trim and stabbed myself. I don't know if it was a nail or if it was a splinter, but it went deep and it fucking hurts. Now, I can't decide if I should soak it and try to dig in it with a needle to get the possible splinter out... or if I should just leave it alone and see if the dark part that looks like a splinter is just blood.

Ug. Pain.

If it is a splinter your skin will push it out as it heals I think. Usually when I get one I just wait a day or two then I can pull it out.

Think I'll go home and soak it in hot water for 20 minutes or so, then maybe pour some peroxide on it and start digging.

I dislike pain immensely.

I could tell you stories... how about this one... cows eat thistles. Thistles have thorns. Thorns don't get digested. Working on a farm.... you're gonna come into contact w/cow shit at some point. Guess what happens when you get a cow shit thistles thorn jammed into your hand

Not pretty. No amount of grape soda and cure the associated disappointment either.

soak it in hot water, use the side of a needle and brush it towards the point of entry when it gets close enough to get at with the point dig it out.
