Hit and Run

Yesterday afternoon, when I came out to my car, I found someone had hit it in the parking spot. There's a big, long dent running from my driver's side door all the way down to the tail light, which is cracked.

When I parked the car the night before, it was next to a really old, beat up beamer. Way too short to do the damage that was done, so that wasn't the vehicle.

Both the cops and the insurance adjuster said that the damage was most definitely done by a truck.

I was parked right next to the spot that is closest to the maintenance apartment, plus contractors are working on the unit right next to mine right now, and have been using area spots. During the day, there are all kinds of work trucks in and out of the spot in question all day long.

When I walked into the apartment office yesterday to tell them simply that there had been a hit and run on my vehicle (and nothing more, per advice of the police officer so that they can investigate without issue), they were all huggy with me when I walked in, but as soon as I said there was a hit and run, the guy took 4 steps backwards and started defensively repeating over and over that all I can do is call the cops.

I think whomever I parked next to the night before left for work, and some contractor/maintenance man whacked my car something awful going in the spot to load or unload their truck. Whether or not the office knows about it from their contractor/employee, I'm not sure.

But I'm pissed.

Insurance adjuster gave an initial, and unofficial guess of about $4000 in repairs. Thankfully, my deductible on a hit and run is only $500, but if I could figure out who did it then my deductible is only $250 AND I get a rental car when my car is in the shop, so I'd really like to know who did it, and press charges and all that jazz.

do some recon, if you have the time, and look for a truck with your color paint on their bumper, take pics, and document that shit. I had to do something similar when I lived in an apartment complex way back when. I even scraped some of MY paint off their bumper as proof. Had that shit color matched and then turned the plates over to the cops with my photo proof and color chips off of my car and the ones I collected. The fucker got charged with hit and run.

Hate it when that shit happens!! I had a brand new 05 RSX a while back. Had it for two weeks and some douche hit it with his door and left a big ass dent in it. I went ballistic!! Sorry to hear it happened to you. I saw a douche at meltdown back into a brand new car as well and he just sped off. People suck!

He charges like 50 bucks for an analyzes and if its heavy duty black magic its like 20 bucks an hour. Turns out in my case Merritt had contracted some voodoo dude out from Lousina to put a hex on me. My curandero and the voodoo dude ended up battling it out on some astral plane out there.
