I was extremely lucky that I walked away without any legal problems and without ever ODing. And thankfully I NEVER used needles and avoided getting any dieseises(sp?). A friend of mine resides in Mexico now b/c of h related legal issues. But at least shes clean now.

one choice gets better the other doesn't.... no one is remotely suggesting it is an easy thing to do. I think the notion is that the alternative to not getting clean is so much worse than getting clean that the struggle is worth the effort... regardless of the difficulty

I have always had emotional issues. Depression has been a constant throughout my life. No doubt it played a part in me getting into that shit. When I had been clean for about six weeks and the smoke began to clear in my head, I was happier than I had ever been in my life! I wasnt even drinking or anything yet. Ridiculously happy and completely sober. It amazed me. Hardest thing Ive ever had to do, but definately the most worthwhile.
