Why don't more laundromats offer WiFi??

So you're stuck there for over an hour....

Why don't more laundromats offer WiFi? The only one I knew of was Bar of Soap, and there was one near my old apartment in Denton.

I have a lot of classwork, and I have a lot of laundry.
It would be beautiful if I could kill 2 birds with one stone.

I took my laptop and used my phone to connect at the laundry a couple months ago and ended up leaving em in the car. I had em out for about 10 minutes before people started eying me. Felt like i was going to get jacked. Bar of soap was cool though.
New question, why the hell cant they ever put a laundromat in a decent part of town? Sure it may not get used as much, so just make it smaller. At least you will feel safe.

Safer ones exist... They are just few and far between. You can always search for laundromats by the college campus closest to you, for example..

There was another one, just a regular laundromat in Lakewood. It eventually closed, but it was right in Lakewood Shopping Center.

No matter where you are, though, when you break out yer goods, you gotta be prepared to keep an eye on them.

I still have a few favorites for the non-seedy factor. I could feasibly do it at the complex laundromat, but the card system is annoying, and at least one fancy pancy high efficiency digital washer breaks down on me every time..

Oh wellz... Assignments downloaded to the HDD.. Off to my 3rd favorite "comfortable" laundromat (R.I.P. Bar of Soap and the Lakewood Laundromat)

My apartment has connections for a stackable... Just isn't worth it to me to buy one, and I don't believe in renting furniture/appliances. Someone tried to give me one, but the dryer ran on gas.

I dont live in denton, i live in lewisville. The closest laundromat to me isnt actually scary, its just dirty, which i find rather ironic

Well, there wound up being entertainment.

I had my nose in my work when a teenaged goth girl decided she wanted to loudly show off that she could get away with profoundly insulting her mother in public. The retirement aged housewives that spend all day sorting and folding sniffed their noses, the older young ladies glared, and the guys all dodged their eyes. The little brother was quietly trying to get the mom to stick up for herself afterwards.

Little girl with the eyeliner needed to have one of those old laundromat ladies wash her mouth out with clorox and a heavy coating of softener.

Dude, I was at Oshman's the other day and this little grommet was mouthing off to his dad. He was telling him what to do and talking to him like he was stupid. "No! You're going to buy THIS for me!"

goddam I couldn't take it. I let out that loud sigh that says 'here it comes fucker'. They looked at me and I looked at them. I shook my head and said "Jesus Christ what the fuck is wrong with people!?" and walked away. I meant to totally emasulate him because if he can't tell when a spoiled child is doing it, maybe he'll get the message when one of his peers does. That poor stupid bastard will play sucker to the kid his entire life and the kid will be a victim of the world forever the day he goes out on his own.

I guess that's OK with me. My little prodigy is respectful, thoughtful of others and will completely OWN douchebags like that when he reaches adulthood. While junior over there is whining about why are these reports so hard to file and it sucks to have to work, my boy will be steady chipping away at life's roadblocks and building his castles.

It's comforting and chilling at once to know that the next generation are going to be pretty fucking useless but at least MY kid will rise to the top.

Maybe they figure if you are too poor to afford your own washer and dryer, then you probably don't even know what WiFi is?

because most people that can't afford a washer and dryer most likely don't have a laptop with wifi. So there's no use in spending money to create a hot spot that won't be used. You would most likely see them with hotspots around colleges.
