thesis due in one month. cramps so bad they're actually effecting my ability to breathe. i usually don't get them this bad at all, but damn. i need to work, uterus! step the fuck OFF.

sorry for posting a cramp thread. i know these are annoying. but jesus fucking christ, i need to write, i need to go to work tonight, and it's just not happening.

i have been working on a grant project that effects prostitutes and this whole argument came up from other ppl comparing them to domestic violence victims.

i am curious what your opinion on that is from a recovery standpoint of women that have chosen to leave that career/lifestyle and need outside help.

i mean they are both considered abused women, but they have a different set of problems which requires a different approach in helping them become self sufficient imho. the goal of recovery is usually to get ppl to find positive ways to take care of themselves that isn't so dependent on situational factors like the abuser's mood, victim's health/age, etc.

what do you think, mere? i remember you talking about a se>< worker charity & it made me wonder.

hmm, comparing them to domestic violence victims...interesting. i can see the cross-applications in the sense that they're both generally classes of unskilled workers, but i dunno what i think about that comparison. i'd really like to hear more about your work, though...and potential intern positions! i want to learn how to write grant proposals to help whores! (i.e. i'm cultivating my exit strategy from the sex industry. lol).
