Props to the Rec Shop Krew

I just wanted to give my thanks to everyone at the rec shop crew for doing their best to bring all the different people together and to bring a good time to DFW. It was the best 2.5 hour Sunday I've had in a while.

I'd also like to give a big FUCK YOU to stupid mother fuckers that don't understand how to act in a public setting and to pussy motherfuckers that hit kids.

Oh, and another big FUCK YOU to the DPD who think that they need 10 cop cars and a Rave Bus to destroy our 1st amendment right to peaceably assemble.

All I know is what I saw, I cant speak to what happened before or after.
At 4:45 I saw 3 kids (10-15 years of age) running from one side through everyone, knocking over everyone in their path running north with a crowd of people running after them.
Then at about 4:50-4:55 one kid was standing next to me arguing with someone and this older person just hit him without warning. He fell to the ground and started crying holding his nose and as they brought him up he was bleeding, looked like his nose was broken. He left and a huge crowd ran after the guy that hit him. That was about all I saw.
After that the party was normal until 2 cop cars pulled up around 5:10.
They told us to turn it down, then to turn it off, then they told us we all had to leave. When people didn't immediately leave, 8 more cop cars showed up and turned on their lights and sirens and forced everyone out of the place.

So some fighting broke out, cops showed up and asked for the music to be turned down, sized up the situation and then felt a need to actually disperse the crowd?
Sounds like some of the right ingredients were present for a shut down.
Were people drinking.

All in all though, it does suck as I've yet to go to a Rec Shop BBQ event and I hope, since they've gone down in the past without these sort of problems, that they'll continue to do so.

No, I am drunk, however, I started drinking when I got home. I agree that the police should have been called. A kid got punched and a bunch of idiots ran around after the guy that punched him. For about 60 seconds it was mob mentality and then it was over as quick as it started. The cops definitely needed to be there to stop anything that could have happened due to that instance.
They did not need to shut everything down though. It all happened in 10 minutes that they said, "turn it down, turn it off, get out of here".
At that point, there was nothing going on that merited that type of police presence.
With the way it happened, my first thought was that there was a permit problem. If that was the case then my whole "fuck the DPD" thing is retracted. It that was not the case, I hold to my statement.

Lol, as soon as I posted it, I thought about it.
Although one instance that happened between 4 people and then ended immediately after, is not reason to break up a crowd of hundreds who ARE peaceably assembling.

That little kid on a bike shot and killed someone - a grown dude.. a junky grown dude, but still.
