Fuck you for being the only restaurant in the metroplex that won't split a check for parties larger than 8. Fuck you for making us spend 45+ minutes working out the numbers(alright, more like fuck you for making me wait 45+ minutes on the other parties doing math on their fucking phones because everyone else is a retard at math and/or chained to the calculator on their phone). Fuck you for overcharging me by $25 because you can't follow the numbers we sorted out. And fuck you for having a douchebag manager who didn't give a shit when we went to complain about your backwards-ass policy.

I think it's safe to say I'm never going back there again.

They have some good jazz (or used to) but their servers used to come over to the bar I used to manage and talk about how they used to scam people right and left. Their managers used to yell at them for it, but we used to hear about it so much that it seemed like an institutional mindset there. That means someone else besides their servers were scamming or cheating people so the servers would think "if they are doing it, we should too." Are you talking about the one in Addison?

Nope, the one in Uptown. I'm sure we probably got scammed, but by the time they actually rang everything up I just wanted to fucking leave.

Maybe the Addison one splits checks, but the uptown one sure as hell wouldn't. Our portion with tax & tip(they put 18% on parties of 8 or more) was ~$43, they charged me $68.

I've never found the appeal of that place. The food's overpriced and mediocre. The Jazz was nice at times, but I'd rather have a good dinner somewhere and go to a good Jazz bar afterwards.

it has completely gone downhill there. I played there for over 10 yrs and quit a few years ago because they were not interested in real live jazz anymore. From what I understand now, it's all top 40 bands on weekends.

I also worked there (corporate side, not server) for about 2 1/2 yrs, and heard plenty dodgy shit, but never heard of anyone ripping people off on checks. Do you know the name of the mgr you talked with? If you do, or can describe this person, hit me up and i'll try to get to the bottom of it for you, I still talk to these guys sometimes.

Yeah, we mentioned to our waiter what a pain in the ass it was... and he said the computer system didn't have the capabilities... I then pointed out that they need to get the software that Applebee's uses... because when I worked there I could split the check 20 ways... no problem.

Anyways, that owner needs to get off his high horse, because that place was dead on a Friday night... and other places on McKinney were packed out. That's a sign that you are DOING SOMETHING WRONG.

I hope that business goes under and the the owner goes broke and has to live in a tent someday.

Oh geez, I thought this was about the liqueur and I fucking cringed. haha But yea, this is almost as bad. What a bunch of douches, it's not that big a deal. I think places do that to make it "easier" on themselves when it comes to cashing out tables, but it's the same shit if you are having to run just as many cards or get just as much change. So stupid.

Lol. We don't split checks in New Orleans....at all. Either be a baller and pay for the tab outright, or else everyone bring some cash/calculator and split that shit.

A server's time is much better spent serving food and liquor to the tables rather than doing menial paperwork.

Also, the restaurant takes a hit with each credit card they run since it's flat fee per card times #of cards plus % of total

at my restaurant, we only take 3 forms of payment regardless # persons....so if you have 20 heads, we'll only take 2 credit cards and cash or 3 credit cards total.

That would be a valid point if they were putting a limit on the number of cards, but they aren't. They'll take 100 credit cards for one check, they just won't split the check into pieces.
