See, and if they would just shut up and do their blow and hookers then it would be cool. But they constantly want to argue about how much superior their machines are...

Anyone that knows anything about computers would have no problem building an excellent desktop PC for under $1000.

Now, for their laptops I will give them the edge. They are worth the extra money.

Don't. Go Core i7 if you can afford it. The price of DDR3 has come down quite a bit.

Or get a much faster dual core. The fact still remains that most people's apps don't take full advantage of more than two cores.

I just built a quad core Q8200 with 4GB of ram running running multiple OSs. It's nice but i'm going to use a Core 2 duo for my production/gaming box until I can afford a new i7.

Yeah, I thought about just getting a faster dual core.

I'm running Windows 7 which seems to use a bit more resources than XP but is still much better. For the most part everything runs good, but it seems Reason doesn't like other programs to be open when I am screwing around with it.

I got a slow dual core right now. I think it's only 2.1ghz but it might be 1.8ghz... I bought it a few years ago.

Just upgraded to 4GB ram though and that helped out a lot. Also need to get a new video card since mine is like 5 years old lol.

Yeah I'm still running the beta, too. I've been too lazy to update it.

Don't feel like going through the hassle. I will probably just wait until the final version is out in October.
