one day i sat her down for the talk that i have to give to friends that want to beat me over the head with their bible:

"dear ____, i am a good person. you believe that god talks directly to you. i believe god talks to all of us & he said he & i were cool." mom said i was being blasphemous. i said "god does not need to ask for your permission when he talks to me"

and she never brought it up again.

yeah its odd because i fell sooo far from the family tree. im objective, im open, i want to know the point of views of others, and im willing to look at facts and not fly in the face of them just because they are they are different than what i want them to be. I just dont understand people like that.....and oddly enough "people like that" happen to be my family. I believe you're only as ignorant as you allow yourself to be....and some people are just happy being ignorant. It worries me, because thats kinda the starting point of everything bad in the world....ignorant people.

It's just amazing how some people won't concede to being wrong about something and just refuse to see things. At one point it got all the way to a "don't come around/talk to us anymore" situation.

Im sorry to hear that redeye. The whole "its a choice" thing enrages me more than anything and I certainly would have had an all out war with my parent had they said something like that to me. Im very lucky that way. My parents (dad and stepmom) accepted it and never looked back. Even tried to hook me up a couple of times. LOL. Their taste in guys leave alot to be desired. My mom does still tell me, if you havent tried a girl, how do you know? And I just say mom one thing makes it hard and the other doesn't. That simple.
