so i had my first up close & personal one on one time with a tv outfitted with one of these bad boys.

epic fail

eating my messican food. watching people's court bzzzt bzzzt shorts out. judge's head on baby daddy's body. bzzt bzzt part of a commercial bzzt bzzt possibly selling static.

so is it like that just for broadcast tv's or do your local stations look like that now on cable/sat/etc ??

& yes this means i haven't watched tv in over a week.

that has more to do with your antenna you're using most likely... rather than the converter box

i'm just saying. is it like that for other boxes? i am curious. but not curious enough to buy another tv till next summer.

doesnt really matter... antenna signals go in and out. try moving the antenna to a better location.

it has nothing to do with the box or the tv.

that's not the box though, that's a static signal from not having good enough signal strength

If you are on Cable or Satellite, no worries, you don't need a set top box.

Also if your tv has an HD Tuner built in (like mine). A good antenna is all you need. Hell I'm using a coat hanger and some coax right now, some channels are good, some are bad.

Just because it is digital, doesn't mean its going to come in crystal clear just because you have an antenna. You need a good signal strength and a good antenna.

i just rewired my grandmas old house, she has a huge oldschool tv antenna on the roof, i ran coax to 3 rooms from that antenna, one room had a ventura converter box and every channel and signal came in beautiful, while the ohter two rooms had sylvania or some type of converter box and no matter what some of the signals came in shitty and not full strength, i used the ventura box in each room to test it out and it worked great, so sometimes it can b the box, not all are created equal and some are down right shitty.

my advice buy an hd antenna
