I think we just lucked out. They were advertising it as free or 5 bucks or something ridiculous like that. We showed up and haggled a little bit at the door and they let us all in for like 4 each. There was really nobody there yet.

One of the girls works at Zu and someone from there called her and told her they "had heard John Legend was playing next door at Lost". So that's why they left.

Later on I was heading to Billiard and when I got out of the car I could hear John Legend songs being sung live so I figured it was a legit thing and headed over to check it out....they stopped me on the patio before I payed to get in.

In hindsight it makes sense but when someone tells you John Legend might be at Lost, you know he is actually in Dallas, you get to the area and can hear one of his songs, you get to the bar and they tell you it's a John Legend show.... I don't know how many people would really go "oh this absolutly CAN'T be John Legend." Ya know?

As I recall, it was supposed to be a free (or very cheap) after party show as a thank you to the Prince fan club. When Prince's management saw the amount of people there, they flipped some shit & made the Jacket charge a high cover in order to cash in.

I thought it was "x" amount of gallons of milk and he wanted the American flag taken down, IIRC. Was a cool night for sure. I can't remember if this was before or after I worked there. I think it was before.

actually, prince's people asked that a certain amount of money that night go to a charity that Prince chose. Which forced red jacket to charge what they charged.

sorry but this makes it sound like you were part of the staff or something and thats just not correct.(did you attend the monthly meetings?) if by worked there you actually mean they paid you a few bucks to flyer cars, than sure you "worked there".

who told you that? thats not correct.

prince and his people entirely determined the ticket cost as well managed the register for the evening (unusual for the club as it never did this).

he posted up in the dressing room/vip for hours and john the owner was really the only one going down there to interact.

prince did request hersheys chocolate quik (for god knows what?) and this was after the place was packed and he should have been on a couple hours earlier. nicole asked me to go over to 7-11 and scoop it up and then came back with "nevermind". we were laughing about it.

when nicole received the call the day of the show around 2pm it woke us up and within 2 minutes of the convo she had this crazy look on her face so i knew it was gonna one of those weird calls. turned out that prince wanted to do the afterparty and they also discussed about the band setup as well as the fact that prince was emphatic that his fanclub members have first access to the building and therefore the stage. the press was also contacted and it was leaked to them so photogs/writers could be there. the only charity being donated to was the nation of islam because those were the cats taking the money as well as being his bodyguards.

JOHN LEGEND WAS AT LOST SOCIETY FOR HIS AFTER PARTY!!!!!!

Anyone who went to the concert at the Meyerson Symphony Center, heard John Legend’s brother on stage announce that Lost Society was hosting John Legend’s after party. Vaughn Anthony (John Legend’s brother) announced the after party not once, but twice.

John Legend showed up at about 11:30 and was very kind to everyone. He thanked his fans, Dallas and Lost Society. Shortly after, his brother performed.

Furthermore, I had a great time at the after party along with several others in attendance.

I hate to spoil your rant DLish, but John Legend was at Lost Society Sunday night. I was there and I have pics! (See attachment) He was there to introduce his brother and protege Vaughn Anthony.

The picture isn't great, but if you have actually been in Lost Society you will recognize the tile etc around the DJ booth. It was a publicized and documented event.....with no impersonators or any other such BS.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I remember from Nicole as well. Wasn't aware his people ran the door, though. Guess me & mine got lucky to get there early enough for a freebie. Hell of a night for music, regardless!
