if you want a free cup of coffee, go to starbuck's around 4pm and order a bold roast....they freak out b/c apparently nobody orders bold coffee at that time of day....they'll have to brew a fresh pot....act anxious and tell them you're kind of in a hurry....they'll give you a free cup of house blend or the bold once it's ready....it's happened to me 3 times now.

And completely true. By that time of day we really don't care about anyones damn coffee and only scurry because we don't want to get yelled at *any more*.


And yes, I do work there BradH. Its not a bad company to work for, its just asshole customers that make us hate our jobs, like any retail or service position.

I make these at home too!!! So GOOD....have you tried using flavored creamers? I make mine with double strength coffee, sweetner, and dolce de leche creamer and ice in a bartender's martini shaker.

I wish people would stop thinking that Starbucks coffee is gourmet...

Its overpriced crap in my opinion, the beans are over roasted and the coffee just tastes too bitter.

I'd take Tully's Coffee over it anyday.

Nah, I'm trying to cut calories so I make them with skim milk. Greek skim milk too not the shit from the base that has the hormones in it. I really can't tell much of a difference with the taste.

Espresso, there is no X in it. That's one of those things that grinds my gears.
And as far as coffeee goes, Starbucks is the bottom of the barrel. The only reason they have such a market share is because there are so many of them. If you want coffee quickly, its the place to go. There's one on every corner and when you are in a rush, they have the drive through.
I really don't know anyone who actually likes coffee that thinks the coffee there is good. Mug and Mouse, CC's (RIP), Gloria Jeans, (RIP) are/were about the only good spots in Dallas that I can think of.

i used to work with an ethiopian woman (tawobesh?) who gave me some fresh coffee beans from her country...i roasted them on low in the oven for awhile, ground 'em and brewed it up...that was some of the best coffee i've ever had....i think freshness really is the key to a good cup....anyone ever had pressed coffee?
