No, I asked. The cops there are hired privately by Taco Cabana. It seems they have irate customers fairly often and need extra protection. If someone comes over and has been drinking, it is the paddy wagon for them if they complain drunkenly.

There is a sign that basically says parking for customers. We were customers and ate dinner there. I literally stepped across the street to drop a stack of flyers to someone and they had someone in the parking lot sitting in a vehicle who had the tow truck come take the car.

There are some signs in the restaurant which say if you step off the property they can tow your car. One is behind some signs so it is not readily visible. Another is on a wall by the door, but it is strategically placed so as not to be where one would look when entering or exiting, and there are many bright colorful things around the restaurant which distract the eye. There is a small sign at the bottom of a group of signs at the Greenville entrance which says customers on property, but that is placed so it can not be seen when headed south on Greenville and taking a right to enter the property. The signs visible in the parking lot do mention the parking is for customers, but again, we did have dinner there and the visible signs said nothing about leaving the property at all.

They place signs where they will not be seen until after the vehicles are towed and then point them out. The signs which can be seen do not give fair warning.

We spoke with a nice couple who came in to eat and a cockroach attacked the girl's toe (don't wear sandles to Taco Cabana) and I picked it up to mail to the health department.

I am now home at 2:22 AM and will be drafting proper documents tomorrow to address this situation. Has anyone else had problems or experiences with this Taco Cabana with respect to towing or cockroaches or any other problems of any nature whatsoever?

Yeah, I am in the Fort Worth area and haven't spent any time over there at all. I thought if someone did not know their tricky lot it should be made known.

You were still in the wrong and those that have spent any time whatsoever on Greenville know about that situation, but I will say this, downtown Fort Worth is a completely different animal so its not surprising you got popped. FW you can park anywhere and for free. It's so much nicer.

no offense but Taco Cabana does NOT hide those signs... they are up all over the place. if you choose not to look at them then it's not their fault.

legally you don't have a case here. it's their lot and they make the rules.
