Freaking out about Sports

I dont understand the whole concept of; getting ridiculously riled up for a game as if you personally know the people playing, getting so drunk that you cant manage yourself or make it to a trash can/bathroom to barf, screaming and roid raging when someone disagrees with you or is for another team, and going into public places and talking/screaming at the tv loudly as if the players and coaches can hear you.

yeah, some ppl go WAY extreme w/ that shit.

I was trying to have dinner at Angry Dog a cpl weeks ago w/ friends w/ about 15ppl total in there.

This DRUNK ass fool was SCREAMING.... Slapping the bar... broke a bottle... clapping his hands...
His friends (and I think a server or two) kept apologizing for him... he even did a bit... but it's like "srsly?"...

I hope that chode had a shit ton of money riding on that game to be acting like that.

Where do you keep getting these observations from? Geez, you make posts as if you're a bad psychic or something. Never have I said its wrong to enjoy a game or say its bad to be "into it". People like to have things to get excited over and forget the mundane of normal every day lives. Some people choose sports as that avenue and take it to an extreme just like anything else.

Some people are just like that. I asked someone a simple question about a game not too long ago, and the guy blows up and starts using profanity and name calling. But some people are just like that. I can see how people not into sports get turned off by those types because they don't see why people are getting all hostile over a game. For some, it's an outlet, and they see sports as being a safe haven to behave like that. But all that can be part of what makes it fun too.

The worst are the drunk guys at the game screaming at whole sections of fans the entire game to stand up - especially as the game progresses and they get more and more drunk.

To watch a game, to like it, enjoy it, talk about it, get excited about a play is fine.

Ok, here is where you really need to read.

The manner in which you do it, is what the rant is about, its also about taking the "hoot and holler" to places where its really inappropriate, Its asking WHY is it so serious that a person must get drunk, start fights, and trash other peoples property over a game? Ironically enough you have NOTHING to say about that, which I repeat, Is basically what the rant is about. If you want to sit behind your computer and ACT like there aren't some sports fans out there who don't act like a plum fool and run their mouths, then simply, you're in denial which would lead me to believe that you could be one of those fatneck assholes that go into 'roid rage when your team loses.
