I've seen other forums do this........and the Leo DDMer's thread in UB kinda reminded me of it.

Could we have a Birthday's Today section added on the front page of the forums? Maybe put it where it has listed the current users on the forum. Have it listed out for each day which forum members birthday it is.

Could be a nice idea. That way no one is forgotten on their special day

I know what you're talking about. I think we have the capability to put such a feature.

But as you can see we have 9000+ registered members on this site. If we added that then you'll probably see about 500 (or more) usernames a day in the birthday section. That takes up a huge amount of space on the front page of the forum.

Also you're probably thinking, "Well why don't you delete a bunch of members that aren't active?" Well we probably will but deleting and figuring out who's active and who isn't is a huge task in itself. We don't want ot make a mistake and delete people that still visit the forum. We get MANY lurkers that don't even post but still read the calendar and forums alone.

So... yeah we'd probably install it... Only if we still had 200 or so registered members. But for now, looks like it isn't happening.

Well you could always put a link to another page for it, rather than listing them all out. And you could have them listed with the most recently active on top, and maybe put the first 10 or so of those on the front page along with the link.

maybe there could be a way to where you can make the birthday section active for members ONLY if they are online at the time? Or make it to where the person shows up on the birthday section only if they've actively used their account in the past few months.....

that way 3thousand lost ID's and unused or inactive users dont show up on there.

I think providing a space for us and doing all that they've done up until this point is quite more than enough.
