Grievance suggestion: about locking threads

Just wanted to throw this out there:

Most of us pretty well understand the rules about thread locking and what is / isn't allowed on this board. Also, I think that for the most part, we understand that sacrificial bumping isn't cause for boat-anchoring a thread.

On the other hand, there are those of us that attempt what falls under 'sacrificial bumping' in order to bring attention to a thread that by rights and purposes should be locked, whether due to board rules or due to overtly/obscenely inflammitory initial thread posts.

What I'd like to purpose is this: in order to extend 'board justice' a little to the members, would it be feasible that if a thread surfaces that many of us feel truly should be locked, several individual members (say 10 or so) could anonymously (well, between the admin and the sender) send a PM with a link & quote from the thread and a short grievance of why the thread needs to be locked?

Expounding on that suggestion, if there was an extra button added at the top or bottom of a thread to launch a new window for just such a purpose, it could make this rather easy to do.

Just a thought

so far i dont think its that bad
It happens at least a couple times a week. I think it'd be a justly-used feature if available.

All you gotta do is just send any of the admins a PM about the thread if you have a problem with it. That is how it's done in the past, present and future.

Just because you're bumping it doesn't mean it will give us a signal to check the thread. So next time, just try contacting us if you have a problem with the post. We'll deal with it then.

Also when we upgrade the site, there will be a feature to warn about a post. There's no point for us to do it now (too much work when we're going to be upgrading soon). PM'ing will be fine enough for now.
