You sure you don't mean 100k? 50k would even be more reasonable. Do you mean to say that the banners I have been seing up there as animated gifs are 10k or less? I don't believe it. (: I mean 468*60=2760 pixels... 4 bits per would put one over.. and GIF doesn't compress all that much. What's the trick, everyone? - level6

Sorry... For some reason I thought I replied to you already... I guess I hit submit and it must have not went through or just closed the browser too fast. Anyhow... I wrote: What I posted is something I paste when people ask about banners. Our total max for banners is 20k. under 10k is our preference though. Also you can compress them by using either Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Imageready. OR I think there is a program called "Ulead"?? -What you do is make the banner -then go do ctrl+shift+alt+s (to save for web) -if you save as Jpeg, you can save the quality as "lower, medium high" -if you save as gif, you can choose less colors to make the file size smaller. (it's set to 256 colors usually, try setting it to 8 or 16 colors) that should do it... Let me know if that helps |
