Poll request for Info and Awareness?

Admin:

The front page has a polling area on it. Is there any way a poll could be scripted into the Info and Awareness forum? Asking opinions on current / political events?

I know we have the option to make a poll post but a poll sanctioned by DDM but be better. You know, up front and the first thing you see in the forum.

Ie:


The War: who approves, disapproves?



Abortion: who approves, disapproves?



Etc….

Polling is already open in Info/Awareness. When you post a new thread, just scroll down towards the bottom and you'll see the option.

soem of the polls within the forums are a little controversial for the front page don't ya think?

I'll let Eiwe and Annesta make a call on that. It sounds to me like you want a current events poll put on the front page outside of the Awareness forum. Am I right?

While on one hand I can understand the need to spread current events, this site is not a news organization. There have been previous requests to spread the information in that forum around to other forums that have been denied given this fact. It's generally accepted that if people want the news, they will seek the correct forum for it and do not want to have it shoved in their face.

I want a poll that's like the one on the front page but inside the Awareness forum, policed by DDM admins or users like Ryan, bfp, etc.. (a diverse mix of views), instead of having polls posted by users.

I think your quoted post just contradicted itself. Lemme see if I can get this straight... You want a poll that looks like the poll on the front page but policed by DDM admins or certain users, but not all users?

If I am right in understanding what you are asking - The polls used in this forum would be the same thing. If polls are created by users on the forum, the poll count can't be altered by users or the original poster of the poll.

As for your question, yes we can add a poll there but not the same looking one from the front page. The forum already has a feature for us to include polls so theres no point in adding an external poll software. But... We are pretty busy right now with other things we have to do with the site. My suggestion is to create your own poll with your own questions to satisfy your own curiosity
