Linking of images... - Dallas Dance Music - Dallas nightlife, music, tickets, and more

Hey all,

Just wanted to let everyone know in advance that we have instituted a filter that does not allow direct linking of images (JPG and GIF) from outside of dallasdancemusic.com. This is purely based on the bandwidth that such linking may use and cost us, based on our past experiences. We hope this does not cause an inconvenience for you.

Feel free to link to pages of the site, etc.

That sucks, one of my favorite aspects of the site was that they allowed us to share our userpics outside of the site.

there are plenty of other sites where you can host pics and use them anywhere you want, no need to do it here too if the admins have this rule

they need to take a look at how may hits come tot he site as a result of users spreading pics all over the web. they get thousands of free DDM banners spread all over the web when people are allowed to hot link them.

---This is absolutely true. I've come across several interesting sites, based soley upon looking at the properties of photos linked onto other message boards. Especially some really class edm related sites...ie:tillate, etc.

yea, real fucking lame. even though i have uploaded about 5 pics and host my own lol.

just on a principle stand point it sucks. i'm already irritated that the main pages lags cause of an ad loading. but whatever, it's your site.
