stickies in gd.

i know this has been debated to death.

but i have a little uneducated suggestion...

would it be at all possible to sort them by ascending date? like most recent on top... that would be more user friendly

i'm not sure if they pay extra for top billing or whatever. but it would make it easier to deal with the million & half events we are forced to scroll past to get to the fresh threads.

more logical order.

That would be nice, but they work just like the regular threads in that the most recent post goes to the top of the stickies.

We could just have them put the date at the beginning of the title, so at least you can scan the dates a little more easily.

there is another board i'm on that requires ALL events posted to begin with the date like 6/12 bla bla bla

if it would be possible to do date first to the stickies only, it would make it easier to navigate.

u may have noticed lately, most stickies begin with the name of the promotion company. so especially prolific promoters may have several one after another. in real life we say "ditto" or "

so sometimes i scroll down gd & read ditto ditto ditto ditto & have to readjust my eyes to pick out the specifics in all that ditto.

if i just lurked for events, i would u for at least troubling the sticky buyers to format their subject titles in a way that is best for the readers.

so if i wanted to find something for this wknd, focusing on dates would make it ez ez (even if it wasn't in specific order)

i'll compromise. i think jonny has a good idea to start with.

i just KNOW that everyone isn't addicted to text like me. so i'm asking for all the dyslexic ppl who say i'm too wordy (& me too cause i get lazy)

Your green text makes my eyes hurt, could you stop that too?

There's no way that I know of to sort the stickies in a way different from the rest of the forum threads. i.e. If we sorted the stickies by date then all the non-sticky threads would be sorted that way as well. I'll see if there's a way around this, but I don't think there is.

oh i understand that sorting isn't possible, kelle explained it.

but i like your idea. in the future, could sticky subjects start with a short abbreviated date?

I suggest you just scroll past the stickies and pay no bother to them. That way I wouldn't be suckered into reading this thread.

it was going so well. i was actually opening stickies for dates i wanted to go out.

isn't there a blank u can put on the stickie order form for the date? surely there is a way to get the author to do the work for the mods.

Ok I'm beginning to be amazed at how rediuculous this site is getting.

I have to change the titles as they are stuck. I have been busy lately so I haven't been changing them. I'll change them to date first in a bit.
