There's not really an established way to become a moderator. The two that we do have (RosebudProd and Leo) were asked by us because we felt they would make good moderators based on their posts, past experience and the knowledge that they wouldn't abuse the moderator privilege. Basically, we don't have an application  Don't call us, we'll call you!
